You’re nourishing senior connections

As we age, it’s important to feed our minds and our bodies, and your support makes both possible for senior neighbors!

Jimmy, a retired piping designer, first began volunteering at our Senior Food Program, where he and fellow neighbors aged 55 and up can pick up healthy groceries. For Jimmy, volunteering is not only a way to help out – it’s an opportunity to socialize and maintain connections to his community.

“It’s been a great thing that I don’t have to stay isolated,” he shares. “Because that’s one of the big problems with seniors. Once they lose their job, they just go into isolation.”

Through volunteering, Jimmy has made new friends and made a difference for his community. And he’s able to take home fresh food to support his health, too.

“I’m grateful for all the connections I’ve made…” Jimmy says. “I find that if you give love, love will come back to you.”
