Steven Bliss

Communications Officer, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation

Steven has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management and planning as well as extensive experience with government at the federal, state, and local levels. His expertise cuts across a range of issues, including safety net policy, housing, economic development, and public finance. Steven is a Communications Officer with the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and previously held communications leadership roles at the Public Policy Institute of California and the California Budget & Policy Center. He currently serves on the board of trustees of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation as well as on the advisory committee for the United Ways of California’s Real Cost Measure initiative. Steven has served as a member of the Lafayette City Council, chair of the Menlo Park Housing Commission, and a board member of the Allentown (Pa.) Redevelopment Authority. A longtime Bay Area resident, Steven is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Northwestern University. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and running the trails of the East Bay.
