Traditional Food Drive
Collecting food for a traditional Food Drive is a fun way to form a sense of community while providing food for our neighbors in need. Food drives are a great project to see the impact of your gift by collecting nonperishable food. Click here for more information on hosting a food drive.
Gifts from the Garden
Whether you bought too many veggies at the store or had a large crop in your garden, extra produce can make a difference to your neighbors in need.
For larger amounts, bring fresh produce to our Concord or Fairfield warehouse. Please do not put fresh produce in food collection barrels around town.
For smaller amounts, please take your donation directly to a Food Bank partner agency. Call our main line at 1.855.309.FOOD for a referral to the pantry closest to you and their operating hours.
Contact a local gleaning program to help with your large harvest.

Food Industry Donors
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano relies on the generous support of manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers and growers within the food industry to supplement programming that reaches hungry community members.
Working with your local food bank can benefit your business by:
- Reducing storage, waste and disposal expenses
- Providing protection from liability associated with food donated in good faith
- Potentially creating new tax credits and deductions
- Increasing your company’s brand awareness
- Assuring your donations are being processed using national food safety standards
We welcome surplus and cosmetically-challenged food that is still perfectly edible and safe to consumer, whether it’s a few boxes or multiple truckloads. We are capable of accepting bulk quantities of dry shelf-stable food as well as refrigerated, frozen, and perishable food. In many instances, we can pick up the donated items.
Food businesses anywhere in the country can easily donate their nutritious and unsold product to Feeding America food banks, like ours using the new MealConnect platform. If you are a food business looking to donate product to the Food Bank please use this link to connect with our team to schedule a pickup.
