Senior Food Program

Free Food for Low-income Seniors

Low-income senior citizens receive free groceries twice per month. These groceries supplement the food seniors are able to buy on their own, and stretches their dollars.

BECOMING A PARTICIPANT

There are 3 criteria for Senior Food membership. Members must:

  1. Be 55 years of age or older
  2. Reside in a low income household that meets the following income guidelines:
    • $1,670 per month / $20,040 per year for individual
    • $2,246 per month / $26,952 per year for a 2 person household
  3. Reside in Contra Costa or Solano County

To register, please provide the following, include copies of documents:

  1. Identification with birth date (*can also be used to verify address).
    Examples:
    • Driver’s license*
    • California state identification card*
    • Passport
    • Medical insurance card
  2. Verification of your home (street) address.
    Examples:
    • Social Security check or statement
    • Bank statement
    • Utility bill
    • Rental lease
    • Telephone bill
    • Piece of mail

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

To apply for membership, please provide this information along with copies of documents to verify your age and residence. You can self-certify your household income.
