Join us for Taste of Champions benefitting Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano and Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties and gain exclusive access to the Yahoo! Fantasy Football Lounge with an incredible view of the new Levi’s Stadium.
Guests will enjoy gourmet food and mingle with some of our country’s top athletes including Olympic Gold Champion Kristi Yamaguchi, Stanley Cup Hockey Champion Brett Hedican, SF 49ers legends Eric Wright, Joe Montana, Jesse Sapolu and Keena Turner, and other NFL, NHL, MLB and Olympic Champions.
Entertainment will be provided by 11 time Grammy winner Tony Lindsay of Santana and his band Spang-A-Lang. Emcees Vern Glenn and Thuy Vu will guide the event which includes a chance to bid on fabulous items during live and silent auctions.
March 21, 2015 Family Food Sort (9:00-11:00am)
Looking to do something fun and meaningful with your children? Do you want to introduce or reinforce your young family members to the concept of philanthropy? Families with children as young as five years old are invited to a family volunteer opportunity at the Fairfield warehouse the third Saturday of EACH month from 9am to 11am. Families will bag fresh produce for the Community Produce Program. This is a first come, first served opportunity and registration is limited to 30 people per shift. All volunteers must be scheduled. If you are a new volunteer, or haven’t registered online before, go to foodbankccs.org/volunteer, click on “Become a Volunteer” and follow the prompts. One adult from each family should create an account, then go to the Family Food Sort opportunity on the calendar to actually sign up. When signing up, a family team should be created in order to register all other family members. Children 16 years of age and over and additional adults also have the option of creating their own accounts and signing in individually.
April 20, 2015 FORE! Break on Hunger Golf Tournament
Register a golf foursome for a day of birdies, eagles and other ornithological golf moments, to be held on Monday, April 20th at Oakhurst Country Club in Clayton. Proceeds will benefit the Food Bank. Registration is at 8:00am with a breakfast burrito to get you going. A shotgun start will have all teams in play at 10:00am, followed by a BBQ afterwards to announce the winners.Cost is $125 per player or $450 for a foursome. April 25, 2015 Vallejo Crop Hunger Walk
CROP Hunger Walks are community fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service (CWS). Seventy-five percent of money raised by Crop Hunger Walks Nation-wide is used to provide food, medical care, disaster relief and self-help development for needy people around the world. Up to 25% of the money raised in the Vallejo CROP Hunger Walk is distributed to local hunger-alleviating agencies including the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

Charity Miles App for iPhone and Android
Turn your daily walk into meals for people we serve! Feeding America is one of the charities to walk for using Charity Miles, a free iPhone/Android app that empowers people to earn money for charity while walking, running or biking. Participants choose one of the app’s featured charities and hit the streets. The app will track the participant’s distance and they’ll earn money for their charity. Bikers earn 10¢ per mile; walkers and runners earn 25¢ per mile—all up to an initial $1,000,000 sponsorship pool.
Feeding America food banks will receive a portion of revenue generated by the Charity Miles app in their service area.

Ready, Set, Bag! Supports Local Food Banks
If you are not already a fan of the original web series Ready, Set, Bag! On blip.tv, it’s time to become one! From now until its official theatrical release in late summer, Ready, Set, Bag! is generously donating 100% of their advertising revenue to food banks around the country. Even after the Ready, Set, Bag! Documentary hits the theaters, $1.00 of each ticket and DVD sale will benefit the Food Bank!
Ready, Set, Bag! has already donated enough funds for over 15,000 meals as of July 26, 2012 and arranged for other online artists including JibJab, AutoTuneTheNews, Sarah Austin and Mike Relm to help create content and contribute to this overall effort to help fight hunger.

The Real Estate Project
The Real Estate Project is made up of area Realtors® that want to make a difference in their community by donating 20% of their commissions to area non-profits. Pampered Chef’s Round-Up from the Heart®
The Pampered Chef’s Round-Up from the Heart® program is a year-long campaign that benefits Feeding America and its member food banks. Since 1991 Pampered Chef has raised over $20 million by promoting the campaign at cooking shows, and at in-home cooking demonstrations, across the country. It is truly a national campaign with a local impact as we fight hunger together!
The campaign has three aspects: 1) Customers can round up cooking show purchase totals to the nearest dollar or more, with funds benefiting local food banks in the region where the donations originated. 2) Customers can purchase a limited edition Round-Up from the Heart cork trivet. For every trivet sold, The Pampered Chef will contribute $2 to Feeding America to support national programs. 3) Customers can purchase The Pampered Chef Cookbook for a Cause Volume 3 featuring recipes from stars of popular TLC shows including Cake Boss, DC Cupcakes, Say Yes to the Dress, Kate Plus Eight and more. For each $3 cookbook sold, The Pampered Chef will donate $1 to Feeding America.

Doorstep Farmers is a new CSA (community supported agriculture) service located in Central Contra Costa County that delivers locally grown organic produce to your door weekly. As part of their commitment to help the local community, they developed the 2-1 Program, where the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano will receive one pound of locally grown produce for every two new supporters that subscribes to Doorstep Farmers. The Food Bank will distribute the donated produce to our local community in need.
