Bruce is an experienced executive and consultant in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. He has over 30 years of executive-level company-building, corporate development, operational and strategic planning experience in the life science industry. He has served in CEO and other executive roles with multiple start-up and early-stage life science companies. In addition, he has served as an executive advisor to other life science companies and also as the initial COO of a major medical research organization. Early in his career, Bruce was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. He earned his undergraduate degree in economics from UC Berkeley, and then received his JD degree and later his MBA degree from Stanford. He is proud to be a third-generation Japanese American. Bruce is a longtime East Bay resident and enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandson, traveling, walking, and playing golf.
