Start a Virtual Food Drive
Increase your impact with the Food Bank's buying power! A Virtual Food Drive is an online fundraiser you can start anytime, and it makes the perfect addition to any celebration, office event or friendly community competition.
Benefits of hosting a Virtual Food Drive (VFD)
- It’s the greenest and easiest of all food drives.
- Allows for group participation.
- You can use any major credit card or PayPal for payment on a secure website.
- Donors will receive an e-receipt confirming their donations immediately.
- Saves the Food Bank the time and resources incurred by a traditional food drive.
- Your donations allow the Food Bank to purchase our most-needed items.
Instructions for Setting Up Your Virtual Food Drive
- Click here and select “Start a Fundraiser” (required).
- If desired, upload an image with minimum size of 1248 x 702 px (optional).
- Write a description of up to 280 characters (required).
- Select a designation.
- Choose a currency.
- Check “Add a goal” (optional) – if selected, enter a goal amount of at least $10 and select an end date.
- Provide email (must be verified using a code) and name.
- Share your fundraiser with colleagues, friends and your social networks!
- Check your email for the “Open my fundraiser” button. This button will provide direct access to your Donor Portal, where you can manager your fundraiser and get sharing options.
Food Bank Facts
- Every dollar donated to the Food Bank can provide two meals!
- The Food Bank distributes enough food to provide 2.7 million meals in Contra Costa and Solano counties every month.
- The Food Bank works with more than 245 nonprofit agency partners in Contra Costa and Solano counties to support their efforts to end hunger in our community.
