Hunger Action Month

Throughout the pandemic, hunger has increased; 1 out of 6 community members in Contra Costa and Solano Counties now experience hunger. To raise awareness of hunger in our community, every September, in partnership with Feeding America food banks nationwide, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano honors Hunger Action Month. Throughout September we will be raising awareness of hunger, inspiring action to stamp out hunger and working towards policy goals to create a world where hunger no longer exists. With food inflation hitting many who can least afford it, this year it’s critically important we support those in our community struggling with hunger.

But…we need YOUR help!

How can you help?

Orange is the official color of hunger relief. Make a statement by wearing orange and displaying orange lighting on your building for September!

Bonus: Take a picture in your orange attire/display and tag us @foodbankccs or email it to [email protected] for us to share.

Follow the Food Bank @foodbankccs and share our posts about local hunger.

Every $1 provides enough food for two four meals thanks to a match from Marathon Martinez Renewable Fuels!
