As Operations Manager at Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa, Kai Barnes oversees the daily logistics of providing free hot meals and groceries to our neighbors in need. A proud graduate of the Food Bank’s 2025 Speaker Series, Kai brings both professional insight and personal passion to his advocacy. His work in East Contra Costa County gives him a front-row view of the harsh realities of hunger—and fuels his belief that everyone deserves access to nutritious food. Kai’s commitment is rooted in compassion and a deep sense of justice. Outside of work, Kai finds joy in music — performing as an EDM DJ — attending concerts, and staying active through fitness. He lives by the quote, “Expect nothing, accept everything,” a mindset that informs both his personal and professional life.
