Hope turned to success for Liz

You may remember we wrote about Liz and her family last month. If you missed it, you can read it here.

A year ago Liz was struggling with mounting legal expenses for divorce and custody proceedings. Her financial troubles were compounded when she was forced to take a medical leave from work due to a torn rotator cuff and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Thankfully, our supporters like you were there to offer hope to Liz, her 9-year old daughter and 6-year old son. With nowhere else to turn, they went to a Food Bank partner agency. They were given much-needed groceries and the kids even received Christmas presents.

This year Liz shared with us that things are looking up. Her health has improved, she’s back at her job as a phlebotomist, and she’s beginning to make ends meet. “I feel very fortunate,” she said. “I’m hoping to get to where I can help others and give back to the community.”
