Imagine going through your day with an empty stomach. For 1 in 8 of our neighbors who turn to the Food Bank, that feeling is often a reality.
An empty stomach makes it hard for people to do tasks we take for granted like focusing on work or helping a child do their best at school.
There are many things we can’t do on an empty stomach, but there ARE many ways we can work together to end hunger.
So, what can you do to help end hunger?

Other Ways to Take Action
- Snap a photo of yourself wearing orange, the official color of hunger relief. Share it on social media with a challenge a few friends to do the same. Be sure to tag @foodbankccs and #hungeractionmonth.
- Take an Empty Plate Selfie – find a paper plate, scribble what you can’t do on an empty stomach and post a photo to social media with #hungeractionmonth. Tag @foodbankccs and @feedingamerica to join the conversation. Challenge your friends to do the same.
- Start a conversation about how you feel when you’re hungry and discuss ways you can help in your community.
- Ask a local business to put up a Hunger Action Month flyer. Snap a photo or it didn’t happen! The business may be featured on the Food Bank’s popular social networks. Download the flyer here.
