Get Help with Groceries

The Food Bank of Contra Cost and Solano distributes food directly to people in need through the following programs:

Senior Food

Low-income senior citizens receive free groceries twice a month.

Food for Children

Children, age 4 to 6, receive free food every month at one of nine sites.

Food Assistance Program

Individuals receive fresh produce, bread, and USDA commodities every month at one of 29 sites.

Extra Helpings

Supplemental food for clients referred by the Contra Costa County Health Department.

Farm 2 Kids

Food for children whose families cannot afford enough to keep food. Every week, the Food Bank distributes 3-5 pounds of fresh produce per child through after school programs in low-income schools.

Other Programs

We also make food available for other nonprofit partners/member agencies, such as emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, daycares, and other local charities.

People who need help accessing nutritious food may be eligible for Food Stamps even if you have a full- or part-time job. Our Food Stamp Outreach Staff can help you determine if you are eligible.
