What Is Extra Helpings?
A special food program, which provides supplemental food for clients who are referred to the program by the Contra Costa County Health Department. This program provides vital nourishment to low income individuals living with specific chronic illness. Participants are required to be involved with county case management and be updated yearly. Clients receive non-perishable food boxes along with fresh produce. Frequently, additional food items are available. Although this program does not provide individuals with all that is required for proper nutrition, it does provide a great supplemental benefit.
