Emergency Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, and Local Charities

Who helps the Food Bank distribute food?

Emergency Food Pantries and Soup Kitchens. Individuals and families in crisis situations receive three-day food boxes, or get a hot meal at a soup kitchen. More than 1.5 million meals are provided to 40,000 people from Food Bank-supported emergency food pantries and kitchens.

Local Charities.  Community organizations such as churches, childcare agencies, and residential programs receive food regularly from the Food Bank. Some provide hot meals on site, while others put together food baskets for families to take home.
